Sarah joined the Escarpment Pet Retreat team in 2011. Originally from South Africa, it is there that she developed her love of animals while working at her grandmother’s kennel. She is a certified Animal Care Attendant and graduated from Sheridan College in 2012. In South Africa Sarah volunteered at a local Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Sarah has pursued additional animal courses including animal behavior, basic grooming and is certified in First Aid. Sarah’s top priority is ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of your furry family members during their stay with us. In her spare time she is found in walking trails with her Whippets Charlie and Sissy, or cuddling with her kittens Alfie and Ethel.
Yvonne is in her third year with EPR; joining us in 2015. She is very knowledgeable about caring for dogs and cats ensuring that they all have a safe and clean environment. Yvonne is certified in First Aid and is EPR’s Health & Safety representative. Although Yvonne loves every animal, it’s her own Sugar Glider, Wilfred and her English Bull Dog/Pug cross named Eddie that gains her attention outside of work! In her spare time she volunteers at the Lincoln County Humane Society.
Maddi completed a high school co-op placement with Escarpment Pet Retreat in 2016 and continued as a part time care giver. While always eager to learn, she takes pride in ensuring our guests receive proper care and loves taking care of the animals. In her spare time Maddi can be found spending time with friends and caring for her own fur family. She has three dogs; Piper a German Shepherd, Lola a Golden Doodle and Ollie a Chinese Crested Powderpuff. Her fur family also includes Nyx, her cat, as well as chickens!
Megan is another of our part time animal care attendants. She is in her second year with Escarpment Pet Retreat and works part time during school and full time in the summer months. It was Megan’s love of animals that brought her to us! Megan ensures quality care of our guests and especially loves exercising the dogs! You will always find her laughing with a huge smile on her face! She enjoys getting to know all the dogs and cats that come to stay with us. In her free time, Megan is often out walking with her puggle Boomer, playing soccer or spending time with friends and family.
Mindy joined our team in 2008. Today you will find her as part of our reception team. She answers all your queries whether it be by telephone, email, or during in person tours. Mindy will put your mind at rest guiding you through the process of leaving your furry family member in our care. Mindy has a vast knowledge of animal behavior as well as much experience handling all types of dog breeds. In between clients you may find her snuggling a special little dog or out walking one of our large breed dogs. She holds an ECE certificate and enjoys learning about animal behavior. In her spare time she enjoys reading, and spending time with family.
Rachel is a part time animal care attendant. She is an university student studying Animal Biology. Her long term career goal is to become a veterinarian. In her spare time you can find Rachel horseback riding, caring for her bunny “Cole” and spending time with friends.
Sarah began working full time for us in 2016. Originally from Nova Scotia, Sarah has a degree in biology from Acadia University. She moved to Ontario with the long term goal of attending the Ontario Veterinary College and become a veterinarian. Sarah ensures that our guests are happy, healthy and well cared for. In her spare time she loves to play with her dog Kelsey, read or spend time with friends.
Victoria is one of our part time animal care attendants who works full time when out of school. She is in her second year with Escarpment Pet Retreat and enjoys experiencing all the different dog breeds that come to visit. Victoria is currently attending the University of Guelph and majoring in Animal Biology. Her long term goal is to attend the Ontario Veterinary College and become a veterinarian. In her free time Victoria is busy caring for her own fur family. She has Goober, a leopard gecko; Toothless, a Flemish giant rabbit; Cooper, a cockatiel; as well as three dogs: Mona an olde English bulldog, Mack, a bull mastiff, and Bentley the bulldog.
